With the release of the Wii do you think that it will effect the prices of SFC/Snes games that are original releases in a negative ie. value down your collection or positive ie. bring more people into the retro market ?

Hard to say. It depends on how well they are re-released. If there are ANY changes made, the originals should go up in value, as folks want to see what has changed. If they are completely faithful to the originals... it's a toss-up, in my eyes. Just gotta wait and see.
Personally, I'm still upset that Nintendo changed their word... they originally said their retro games (meaning first party titles) would be FREE, but that other companies' games may have a fee. Now they want to charge a minimum of $5 a pop for nostalgia. Grrrrr

Lmfao well they do have shareholders to think about. ;D I bet if you looked carefully on ebay you would be able to pick up a loose beat up cart of most of the games on download shipped for $5.00 for now anyway.
But I suppose down load has one big + in that you don't have to have a pile of carts now it can all be in one easy place. just like a Rom Box.....oooops I mean XBOX.

This is a joke. The Wii is like three generations too late where there is just too much emulation activity for the Wii, PS3 or 360 to contend with. Even if they did something about it people would look bad on both sides.
Even if they released unlreleased games people would just look the other way. However development for new games on the various systems would thrive using this method. You could create a couple of Famicom games and charge maybe Twenty for the download and fifty more for the hard copy.

I ended up buying a Wii for my girlfriend for Chrimbo. Haven't had it on line yet but some of the retro games are....overpriced. PAL Wii so half the descent games haven't been launched yet. Wii Sports Kick Ass Game. Wii Play Bit meh as it's only 2 player thought it would be 4, but the last Game Tanks where you use the Numchuck as well kicks Ass. Zelda I'm not really a Zelda fan but this game is immense I'm really impressed, well I guess I should be as it is pretty much carrying the system for now. Oh and I bet I'm still playing this game in 6 months time Looking forward to playing Excite Truck & Metal Slug compilation ;D

To be honest most people have not exprience the bliss of emulation nore have they done there homework.
You can play PSX games on a PPC running around 300mhz so why in all the world do you need to pay $5 a pop when you can have then entire collection in one HD with the entire colection of every other game system out there.
However I do love the NDS downlaod system and the two screens is like a memory of the Game & Watch days. The NDS can do some really grand graphics along with the PSP and the PSP already have most games emulated so why even bother anymore.
All you really need now is a CAD computer for your Wii, 360, and PS3 games with a Emulator which can run any other 3d game and 2d game. THe PSP has the SNES and Genisis emulated with netplay. There is MAME emulator on the PSP and almost any other OS.
The NDS is really low with emulation support but with the ability to play downloaded games and store on cart simular to the Satellaview it is a hit.
On the topic of the NDS bringing past classics I love the Warrior Mini game madness. It even has a variations of Mini bosses for games like Starfox.
Wii download pay system < NDS download play system

I'm not really into emulated games. If given the chance I will try games on emulation then if I like the game track it down and buy it on Home cart or CD on its original format.
I'm not against it but emulated games have that certain something missing. I have played emulated games on the PSP but the D-pad is pretty crap to be honest.
I have a load of Snes and Megadrive games for the dreamcast and have probably bought about 20 of the 2500+ titles that I thought where worth buying. The rest are just crap or pointless movie license platformers.
I still haven't downloaded a game for the Wii yet, 3 of the 4 titles I would like to I already own in original format so I will wait and see what else is released. No point in re buying those games just yet.

Yea, I'll stick to the PC when it comes to emulating.
It'll run smoother and it's free =)
Really though, if I'm going to pay $5 for a game, I'll just order it off Ebay.
